FAQs

Are your seeds organic?

All seeds are untreated, open-pollinated, heirloom, and non GMO. We are not certified organic however we do follow the organic standards without the exorbitant yearly fees and taxes required by the bureaucracy to label our seeds organic. As we expand becoming organically certified will be considered.

Do you ship outside of Florida?

Yes!! We are happy to ship anywhere in the US.

How long will my seeds last?

The “sell by” date will give you an idea of when your seeds will expire. However, this does not guarantee your seeds wont be viable. Depending on the crop, vegetable seeds can last 1-5 years with proper storage. Germination and quality does decrease in time.

What does “heirloom” mean?

A plant variety that has been pollinated by nature (bees, birds, wind) and has been passed down through generations to keep its uniqueness and quality.

How do I properly store my seeds?

Store seeds in a cool, dry, and dark location. You can place seeds in a sealed tight mason jar in the lower part of your fridge for best storage.

When do I plant my seeds?

Planting dates vary on location and season. Visit Text Version of What to Plant by Month – Gardening Solutions or almanac.com to see what to plant month by month for your area. If you’d like more details on a specific variety please email us and we will get back to you asap! Subscribe to our monthly newsletter for reminders on what varieties to plant for the month!

Do you offer classes for home gardeners?

Not yet! In the future classes will be offered for home gardeners here in Florida to expand their green thumb! In the meantime keep up with us through social media to stay updated on news, growing tips, and planting guides! We do encourage new gardeners to volunteer at community gardens, book a gardening class through Eventbrite, or simply reach out to IFAS in your county for quick information on gardening. (For other gardeners outside of Florida reach out to your local county extension office for gardening resources).

My seeds didn’t germinate!

All seeds have been tested for germination prior to packaging. The percentage of germination will be on your seed packet in the center. Germination depends on many factors such as temperature and quality of the soil, amount of water being received, light exposure etc.. Please reach out to us for information on starting seeds or if despite appropriate conditions your seeds didn’t germinate. We would love to hear from you and get your garden going!

Can I return seeds?

Yes! Prior authorization is required for all products returned. Packets must be returned unopened within 15 days of delivery. Improper storage can quickly damage seeds so please return packets as soon as possible.
